The concept: Character Design

Design of a young boy. In the design I wanted to achieve a special look using straight edges and a lot of textures and shadows. I also used a brush-styled effect on some of the edges to finish the look.

While illustrating I made use of a custom brush to create the textures used as shadow or as a way to add more detail. If you would like to use a similair brush yourself, I have written a blog post about it with a detailed explanation on how you can make it yourself.
